Mrs Ruzicka’s class has had a busy start to the school year. Students had a chance to do blind taste testing in Global Foods. They’re building strength in Strength and Power! And for the first community outing of the year, students dropped off Door Dash packets to McDonald’s and enjoyed a delicious lunch with their employee discount. 🏅 Ms. Cook’s class explored this week’s Unique Learning System – News 2 You article all about the World Athletics Championship happening September 13–21! 🌍✨

Students not only practiced their reading skills but also completed a hands-on craft to learn about balance, stability, and center of gravity — important skills athletes need to perform at their best and stay on their feet while competing. 🙌

Mrs. Durbin’s class enjoyed learning about a hot air balloon festival last week. They did a science experiment with a plastic grocery bag and a hairdryer to learn how a hot air balloon flies, and they did a hot air balloon craft to help decorate their classroom. They ended the week baking a cake to celebrate two birthdays!

Ms. Hinkle’s class made playdoh during cooking. We used measuring cups to measure flour, oil, and water. We mixed red and yellow food coloring to make it orange like a pumpkin.

Miss Embry’s class completed a community service job where they folded brochures for a local dance studio where Miss Embry teaches at during the week!

Miss Embry’s class made cake pops after reading this week’s News2You article; Big Ocean Band. After enjoying their treats, they took a hike on the trail with their gym class!

Some of our Miami East kiddos are having fun using UFLI for phonics/reading instruction and AAC device!!

This past Saturday, we had an incredible day at Echo Hills Golf Course for our annual Miami County ESC Golf Scramble! Thanks to the amazing support from our community, all proceeds from the event will go directly toward funding the Miami County ESC Prom.

First week of school in Mrs. Smith's class. Lots of learning about our classroom rules and structure along with some fun crafts, shaving cream sensory, Lego car game, introduction of our new class pet "Mr. Tag the tortoise" and ended with celebrating a friend's birthday that was in the summer. This year is going to be amazing!!
